Data Exchange Description
The Integrated Compliance Information System for Air (ICIS-Air) data exchange allows all State, Local, and Tribal Air agencies providing air stationary source enforcement and compliance data to submit their data to EPA via the Exchange Network. ICIS supports an integrated data flow to process electronic batch submissions using eXtensible Markup Language (XML) technology. Authorized local control agencies, States, Tribes, and regional users will submit air compliance data to ICIS via EPA’s Central Data Exchange (CDX). They compose their transactions into predefined XML formatted files contained in a zip archive file to submit to ICIS.
The Integrated Compliance Information System for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (ICIS-NPDES) data exchange allows Partners to provide NPDES data to EPA in an XML format and provides processing results to assist Partners with correcting common errors that may occur with their submissions. On October 27, 2014, the ICIS-NPDES Data Flow was upgraded to Version 5.0 to support the Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) of Air Facility, Air Program, Air Pollutant, Compliance Monitoring (stack test/PCE/FCE), Title V annual Compliance Certification, Compliance Monitoring Strategy, Case File, Formal Enforcement Action, Informal Enforcement Action and Linkage data in XML format as well.
ICIS-Air Guidance and Reference Materials for Electronic Data Transfer provides detailed information on the ICIS-Air EDT functionality and guidance for State, Local, and Tribal air agencies.
The ICIS-Air schema and documentation have been approved for use on the Exchange Network. Implementation resources for this most recent version follow.
