Since 2002, the U.S. EPA has been supporting the implementation of the Exchange Network through its National Environmental Information Exchange Network Grant Program. The program provides funding for states, territories, and Federally Recognized Indian tribes and has played an enormous role in the current success of the Exchange Network. For more information on the grant program, consult the Getting Started Guide on Applying for a Network Grant or check out U.S. EPA's Exchange Network Grants page.

2011 grant program

EPA has released its FY 2011 National Environmental Information Exchange Network Grant Program Solicitation Notice for Funding Opportunity Number EPA-OEI-11-01.

The deadline for submitting proposals to EPA is November 5, 2010.

In FY 2011, EPA expects to award an estimated $10,000,000 for 40 to 50 grants of up to $350,000.  The exact number of grants will depend on the amount of EPA’s appropriation for the grant program, the number of proposals submitted to EPA by the proposal deadline, the amount requested to produce the proposed results, and the competitive review of the proposals received.
