  cal/epa waste exchange

Status: Planning

data exchange description

Cal/EPA has delegated the regulation of hazardous materials to certified local agencies called Certified Unified Program Agencies (CUPAs). The CUPAs are required to submit inspection and enforcement information to Cal/EPA on an annual basis. Currently, the state has no mechanisms in place to allow for electronic reporting from the CUPAs to Cal/EPA. Cal/EPA will use the Exchange Network to automate and harmonize the reporting of hazardous waste inspection and enforcement data. This project will streamline Cal/EPA's data collection process and also help clear the way for Cal/EPA to use their Node to electronically update U.S. EPA's RCRAInfo database.
