XML Schema Design Rules and Conventions (DRCs) Printer friendly page

Download - Microsoft Word | Adobe PDF

Abstract: This document provides the guidance and defines standards for designing XML Schemas for the Exchange Network. In April 2006, the Network Operations Board issued this interim update to the DRCs. While all of the original DRCs are listed in this document, it does not replicate the discussions in the original document describing examples, rationale, and benefits/drawbacks of each approach. Please reference the DRC v1.0 for this information.

U.S. EPA offers an automated tool for testing XML schema compliance with the Exchange Network's Design Rules and Conventions.
