Data Exchange Description
Partners use the Exchange Network to submit data to EPA’s RCRAInfo system, the national program management and inventory system for hazardous waste handlers. The EPA CDX test and production endpoints for RCRAInfo are available here.
The Data Flow Implementation Guide provides a high-level overview of the data flow.
DRAFT v5.7 Available for Review
A DRAFT Version 5.7 of the RCRAInfo data flow is available for review. Please note that this is still in draft and is subject to change so do not begin implementing with it. This forthcoming version will support the outbound flow of hazardous waste manifest information from RCRAInfo. Partners that are interested in using this new version should review the schemas and the data service definitions in the Flow Configuration Document to ensure that they will provide the data that your agency needs. Please send comments and input on the draft resources to Jimmy Yin at yin.jianchu [at] epa.gov.
EPA is establishing a national system for tracking hazardous waste shipments electronically. This system, known as “e-Manifest,” will modernize the nation’s cradle-to-grave hazardous waste tracking process while saving valuable time, resources, and dollars for industry and states. EPA anticipates launching e-Manifest on June 30, 2018. By enabling the transition from a paper-intensive process to an electronic system, the EPA estimates e-Manifest will ultimately reduce the burden associated with preparing shipping manifests by between 300,000 and 700,000 hours, and saving state and industry users significant costs annually.
e-Manifest data will be linked to the RCRAInfo system. EPA plans to offer Exchange Network services and APIs to support data access for states. Watch for more information on those services after e-Manifest deployment on June 30, 2018.
